Have you ever been outside observing and you have your laptop with you, and the brightness is killing your eyes. Well here is the solution. Dark adapted x its freeware just download it and turn your screen red, green or blue and you can adjust the darkness of the color its a great program to have!

Gimp is a nice photo editing program, and its freeware. Works for both Imacs and windows. Some say its like Photoshop.

WcCtrl

WcCtrl, allows you to control our camera no matter what imaging program you are using. It lets you change the color, gain, shutter speed and others that i can't think of. Its again FREE! and works well. I have used it a few times with wxAstrocapture, Craterlet and had no problems at all.

Craterlet is a imaging capturing program. Its pretty nice. Its kind of like a basic program. It works with alot of cameras. It works fine with my Spc900 nc webcam. You can take single images or videos. Streams to AVI format at 5-30 FPS

And its FREE!! works on windows. and I think they are trying to make a version for Mac.

Hey, This Program is great! I tested it tonight. I got a bunch of photos of the moon, then i put the photos into autostitch. I think it did a great job putting all the photos together to look like one.

Autostitch is freeware are works with windows.

Stellarium Update

Stellarium came out with a update 0.10.0. Download it Here.
Its a great program and is FREE! I use it every night i go out.

Hey, i have always heard about cartes du ciel, but couldn't use it because it is windows based. now having windows, i downloaded it. it helps you locate objects real time in the night sky. a lot of people recommended it, so i finally got the chance! its pretty nice. one reason so many recommend it is because its FREE! works for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP.

Astrocapture! another great imaging program! This program is a imaging taking program! its freeware so that always nice. and it works for almost every webcam! its windows based. not for macs. sorry!

Hey, this is a very helpful program. Called Registax. Registax is a windows based program so it will only work for Windows. its a great program. a lot of people use it for AP (astrophotography). its a image editing program. Very easy to use. very helpful. and its FREE! download it!

starry night software

Starry night is a great program to have. I have the special edition of starry night and i love it. it shows you the sky in real time. a nice picture you can zoom into the object you want and pick your location. before i go out to observe i check starry night to see what object is out and where it is located. i have the cheapest program and its awesome. some the others must be even better! starry night can be founded here. i haven't used any of the other ones pro, Enthusiast 6.2,Plus 6.2, Starry Night Pro 6.2. its a great program to have with you when you observe!

Hey, i found this on the software page here
its pretty cool. i have been wanting to take a bunch of pictures at once but with macam i'm not able to but Keith's astroimager you can take as many as you want. i just downloaded it yesterday. I can't seem to find away to get it off 4fps i will try again later with the webcam. I think a little playing around with it and it should work great!

hey, this is about Stellarium. Stellarium is a program that shows you where everything is in the night sky and day sky. Its free-ware which is nice and its pretty good. you can adjust the sky condition to your condition where you live. meaning the magnitude of the sky. I think thats really cool, because i live in a high light polluted place. It works for Macs or windows, so thats nice! good software check it out!
